I dont think so that magnatiet is named after the place magneesia. Is it ?

As its given in NCERT that Such rocks which has the property to attract iron pieces and core were given the name
magnetite, perhaps after the name of that shepherd who discovered it. Though Some people do believe that magnetite was first discovered at a place called Magnesia.
