1. The perpendicular distance of the point (2, 6, 8) from xy plane is the z co-ordinate only because any point in the xy plane is represented as (x, y, 0).

2. The perpendicular distance of the point (3, 4, 5) from zx plane is the y co-ordinate only because any point in the zx plane is represented as (x, 0, z).
