The Ministry of Defence which is chaired by The Defence Minister (currently being served by Manohar Parrikar ) has the Department of defence as one of its tḫree main divisions which deals as a coordinating agency between the Cabinet and the Armed Forces. Whatever the centre formulates as policies and plans for developments in the fields of defence it executes by directing them to the department which then acts on them and bring the necessary changes, developments, project executions in the armed forces. Apart from that it is responsible for defence cooperation with foreign countries as well. It is also responsible for communications with the parliament and budget allocation.
