(i) Input resistance and (ii) Current amplification factor. How are
these determined using typical input and output characteristics ?

Input resistance  (in common emitter configuration) => The ratio of ${\left(\frac{V_{BE}}{I_B}\right)}_{V_{CE=cons\tan t}}$
Output resistance (in common emitter configuration) => The ratio of $$\begin{gathered} {\left(\frac{V_{CE}}{I_C}\right)}_{I_{base =cons\tan t}} \\ current amplification factor => it is the ratio of change in collector current to that of base current \\ \beta ={\left(\frac{I_C}{I_B}\right)}_{V_{CE=cons\tan t}} \end{gathered}$$
In input characteristics input resistance is used and output resistance is used for output characteristics.
