MUSIC
Friends, let me say a few words now on "Music". Even though I am too small to talk about the big ocean of "Music", let me try it.
What do we mean by Music ?
Music is a pleasing arrangement and flow of sounds in air that vary in a rhythm and systematic method. Music is also an art or skill that musicians possess and make the audience enjoy their performance.
Further, I will say :
Music is the one of most important boons of Gods, through which people enjoy most of their leisure time. Music is the subject that classifies all the rhythmic sounds into a system, that can be learned and practiced. In Hindu culture we say that all music evolved from one single note (naad or sound) "Om". The seven octaves are the basis for all ragas.
Impact of Music :
We know that all living beings enjoy music, instrumental or vocal. The plants, animals and human being alike enjoy the harmony, pleasant rhythm, and beat in the musical sounds. Classical music is taught in music schools based on knowledge and principle written by our ancestors. We have two main schools Hindusthani and Karnatic. So many channels on TV and radio flood the our air with the invisible waves that penetrate our ears so sweetly every second. Often we see many with earphones in public transport listening to music on radio.
In our culture we have had many gifted musicians. Tansen was supposed to gifted. It is also said music melts the hearts of very rough and tough people. In Indian Hindu mythology there are many musicians like Narada, Tumbura, Hayagriva. Many talented contemporary musicians are there like HP Chaurasiya, Dr Bhin sen Joshi, Dr Zakir Hussain. The entire cinema industry is dependent on musicians - singers, composers and directors. Singers Latha Mangeshkar, SP Balasubramanyam, Raphi, MS Subbulakshmi etc. have made history and into the Guinness book also. Recently A Rehman won the Oscar award.
Music teaches a person a lot of manners and humility. Music from one civilization and culture is easily understood and enjoyed by people from other cultures and language. A quote says "Music knows no bounds (borders)".
There are many types of music that are well known world over. Pop, Jazz etc.
Conclusion :
Being skilled in any component of music is a gift of God. I salute the great musicians that pacify me during my low times and let me celebrate aloud my good times. Music is a profession, the best time pass and hobby.
Music is an industry with a lot of employment and turnover. Manufacturers of CDs, DVDs, MP3 players, benefit from music. There are many opportunities for musicians in movies, television channels, and radios. Musicians are invited during marriages and anniversaries. Many organizers arrange performances by new musicians as well as veterans.
