It is the passion and the dedication of the freedom fighters of India which laid the building blocks of the nation. We cannot proceed on a discussion of this matter without starting off with the Father of the Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. His vision of a free and independent India through non-violent means and guided by a strong ethical as well as moral code has been the fundamental core of modern India. He worked to alleviate poverty, for women's rights, ending untouchability and above all, bringing self-rule with iconic movements like the Dandi Salt March, Quit India movement, Non Cooperation movement and Satyagraha amongst many others.
