The books continue to be in their inertia of rest. Even if the thin paper is drawn out suddenly the pile of books remain undisturbed due their state of inertia of rest.

it doesnt get disturbed because the pile of books are heavy but the paper is light and when we pull the paper the books continues to be in rest.
