if an object is placed at a distance of 10 cm in front of a plane mirror, how far would it be forms its image?

it is formed at 20 cm as 10 of  mirror and ten of real distance i.e. 10+10=20

20 cm

  • -1
The answer is 20 cm, because of the fact that the distance between the mirror and the object is the same as that of the distance between mirror and image. Therefor, total distance = 10 cm + 10 cm = 20 cm

Answer is 20meters

Its image will form 20 cm away from the object coz the distance between the object and mirror is same anf so the mirror and the image .... Cheers

Since in a plane mirror the distance of the object is equal to the image formed, therefore the image will form 20 cm awayfrom the object
  • 0
The answer is 10 centimetre because it is telling about the distance between the object in mirror according to mirror
  • -2
If the object is placed at 10cm away from the mirror the image formed will also be 10 cm behind the mirror because in a plane mirror ;the distance of the object from the mirror is equal to the distance of the image from that of the mirror
  • 0
Its 10 cm
  • 1
If it is a plane mirror and the distance is 10cm ,then the image formed will also be 10cm far away.

Image is formed from the mirror at a distance equal and opposite to that of the object-mirror distance.

So, image-mirror distance is 10cm, and object image distance is 20cm.
  • 0
The object will also be 10cm far from the mirror.
  • 0
10 cm because it is a plane mirror . The image formed by a plane mirror is errect & same size as the object.
  • 0
The distance between the object and the distance of image formed is always the same so the answer is 10 cm
  • 0
The image will formed at 20 m .

The distance of the image from the mirror is 10cm.
And the distance of the image from that object is 20cm.

The answer is 20 cm, because of the fact that the distance between the mirror and the object is the same as that of the distance between mirror and image. Therefore, total distance = 10 cm?+ 10 cm = 20 cm

actually the question is incomplete....
because the answer of this question may be:
(i)10cm - If the distance of image is measured by the mirror, nd
(ii)20cm - If the distance of image formed is measured by the object

If on a plane mirror then it will form 20cms apart from the object as the image formed is always equi-distant from the surface of the mirror on both sides.

It will make a virtual image 20cm far.Because in a plane mirror the height of image and distance from mirror remains same. The object is 10 cm far from mirror and the image is 10 cm far from mirror. So total distance of image from object is 20 cm

It will be 10 cm, because one of the characteristic of light is that the distance between the object and the mirror is same as the distance of the mirror from the point where the image is formed.

If the object is placed at 10cm away from the mirror the image formed will also be 10 cm behind the mirror because in a plane mirror ;the distance of the object from the mirror is equal to the distance of the image from that of the mirror

The distance of an object from a plane mirror is same for the image formed behind it.
So, if the object is 10cm away from the mirror, the the distance between the object and the image is 10cm+ 10cm= 20cm.
