If cos x + cos y + cos z = 0 = sin x + sin y+ sinz, then possible value of cos{(x-y)/2} is?

Dear student

We have,
    cosx+cosy+cosz=0cosx+cosy=-cosz     ....(1)and sinx+sin+sinz=0sinx+siny=-sinz           .....(2)
Squaring on both sides of equation (1) and (2), we get
cosx+cosy2=cos2zcos2x+cos2y+2cosx cosy=cos2z      ... 3and (sinx+siny)2=sin2zsin2x+sin2y+2sinx siny=sin2z             .... 4

adding eqs. (3) and (4),we get

     cos2x+cos2y+2cosx cosy+sin2x+sin2y+2sinx siny=cos2z+sin2z1+2cosx cosy+1+2sinx siny=12(cosx cosy+sinx siny)=-12cosx-y=-1cosx-y=-12            .....(5)

Since we have to find the value of cosx-y2.
cosx-y2 = ±1 + cosx-y2 = ±1 -122 = ±12
