if we multiply or divide both sides of an equation by the same number, the equation remains undisturbed. why? please give an example.......

If we multiply, divide, add or subtract a certain quantity from both the sides of a equation than the value of the equation remains unaltered as the terms we have introduced gets cancelled away in the actual calculation.

For example-

if

3x = 27

Now multiply both sides with 2,

6x = 54

x = 9.

The value of x remains unaltered irrespective the term we introduce in the equation.

  • 1

because it gets cancelled and the variable remains at the left side which can be further solvedd
