IF YOU WERE ERNEST . NARRATE THE  STORY THAT HIS MOTHER TOLD HIM.

 

Ernest's mother told him the story of the stone face. She said that a child will be born in this village who will resemble the man in the statue. He will be a virtuous and good man. Ernest waited for someone to come and stay in that village who would look like the statue. Many men came and the villagers thought that they looked like the face of the great statue. In the end it was Ernest who looked like the face of the man and he was so good and kind that it was natural that he should look like the kind face of the great stone face.
