Dear diary,

I am very grieved today. I just cannot tolerate the burden of feeling helpless and so lonely. Its been three years now and yet there is no sign of improvement in Lucia's health. However, I will not lose hope. I have lost enough. She and Jacopa are all I have. I feel responsible towards them and would take care of them against all odds. I will work day and night and take up all sorts of odd jobs for my sister to survive and lead a healthy life.
