Let pupils playing basket ball = A= 40%
Pupils playing volleyball = B= 25 %
Pupils playing both basketball and volleyball = A∩B=10%
We know that ,
n(A∪B)=n(A)+n(B)-n(A∩B)Putting value we get, n(A∪B)=40+25-10=55 %So percentage of the pupils playing neither basketball nor volleyball=n(A∪B)'=U-n(A∪B)'=100-55 =45%
