In a class of 60 students the average marks of the students who passed the test is 6.7 and the students who failed the test is 3.6. The total marks secured by the entire class were 340. Find the no. of students who passed and fail in the class test
Dear Student
Let assume no. Of Student who failed in exam = y
Toal marks of entire class = average marks of failed students × no. Of failed students + Average marks of passed student × no. of passed students
340 = 3.6 × y + 6.7 × (60-y)
340= 3.6y +402 - 6.7y
3.1y = 62
y = 20
No. Of students who failed in class test = 20 students
No. Of students who passed in exams = 60-20 = 40 students
Regards
