frequency of dominant allele We cannot calculate the percentage of
individuals in next generation showing dominant trait
Here, dominant allele is designated by ‘p’ and
recessive allele by ‘q’
It is given that ( q)2 = 0 20
Thus, q = 0 44
As we know p + q = 1
p = 1 – q = 1 – 0 4 = 0 55
