In bood transfusion, why is blood drawn from a vein rather than an artery?

Through artery the blood flows with very high pressure than in veins. Thus if we puncture an artery for transfusion of blood it may cause serious bleeding which is difficult to control. As veins are having lower pressure of blood, puncture does not cause that harmful bleeding as in arteries.
