Molly Farren is Godfrey's secret wife.She is a drug addict and the mother to his daughter.He refuses to come clean to his father and the town about his marriage to her,and she threatens to out him to the entire vilage. It is on the way to defame Godfrey at the Squire's party that she faints and passes away.
Godfrey is relieved when he hears of the death of Molly as now he doesnt have to worry about confessing to his father since he had initially planned to do so,the reason being Dunstan's constant blackmailing upon his dirty secret.
