17,22,17,32 and so on is given y 12 is arriving as the mid point of preceeding class
 

To calculate the value of adjustment, you can take the difference between any two consecutive mid values and divide this difference by 2.

In the given case, we have calculated the difference by taking the difference between first two consecutive mid values i.e 17 and 12.

12 is taken as the mid point of preceeding class as it is the value of the class just preceeding or just before 17.

All other classes that you mentioned are there after 17.
