In the experiment to find the density of SOLID object, the object should be lighter or denser than water? Why

Dear student,
To determine the density of a solid object , the object should be denser than water. It is because so that object sink inside the water completely. Relative density can be calculated by finding the ratio between the density of the substance to the density of water at 400C. Density of water is kept as standard (1000 Kg/m3)

By the Way it could by any of them-:
1. If you will take denser then you will have to change the observation to- "The object Sinks in water that represents that the object is denser than water."
2. If you will take lighter then you will have to change the observation to- "The object floats on the water that represents that the object is lighter than water."
Hope you understood and plzz thumbs up!!!!
