In the following crosses, write the characteristics of the progeny:
a) RrYy x RrYy
b) rryy x rryy
c) RRYY x rryy

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

All these represent dihybrid crosses. Mendel's dihybrid cross take two characteristics (traits) into account for studying inheritance. In present crosses seed color and seed shape are two traits that are considered. Yellow color is dominant over green color and round shape is dominant over a wrinkled shape. The crosses can be depicted below.

a. The F1 progeny will be RrYy i.e. Round, yellow seeds.

Phenotypic ratio − 9:3:3:1
Round yellow − 9
Round green − 3
Wrinkled yellow − 3
Wrinkled green −1

c.

Phenotypic ratio − 9:3:3:1
Round yellow − 9
Round green − 3
Wrinkled yellow − 3
Wrinkled green −1

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
