In the  polyhedron formula = F+V-2=E , in this formula why 2 is used ? Explain ?

For all the polyhedrons that we come across in class 8, this statement is always valid:

F + V - E = 2 is true as the the number of edges subtracted from sum of faces and vertices always comes out to be 2.
