What volume of water should be added to 500ml of M/10 HCl solution to make it 0.025M?

 M/10 means 0.1M solution

This question has to be solved only using the M₁V₁=M₂V₂ formula:
$$\begin{gathered} V_1{M}_1=V_2{M}_2 \\ 500\times \frac{1}{10}=V_2\times 0.025 \\ {V}_2=2000mL \\ Amount of water added =2000-500 =1500mL \end{gathered}$$
