The phylum coelentrata having class Hydrozoa shows polymorphism.It includes a large number of colonial species which have more than one forms in the individual and these are known as zooids.The two types of zooids or polymorphism seen are known as polyp form and medusa form.The polyp has a tubular body and has tentacles surrounding the mouth by an end. Medusa is an umbrella-shaped structure in which tentacles are present at the margin and the mouth is present at the centre.
