In which process we can separate a mixture of common salt and potassium nitrate

Dear student,

Potassium nitrate is only slightly soluble in zero degrees water, while sodium chloride's solubility is equally soluble in zero degree or 20-degree water. So, chill the mixture to zero degrees and filter off the potassium nitrate crystals. Then, evaporate the water from the filtrate to recover the sodium chloride.
