Is gold a good conductor of electricity?

Yes, Like other metals gold is a good conductor of electricity. Though copper and silver are better conductors than gold, there are certain advantages of gold as a conductor over them. Gold is an inert metal in atmosphere. So, there is no problem of oxidation by air (tarnish, corrosion) as it is in the case of copper and silver. However, there is one disadvantage, gold is much expensive.
