Is the folding of paper a chemical change or a physical change?
Hello,
The folding of paper is a physical change. Paper is made up of cellulose molecules. Folding the paper does not alter the structure of cellulose. Any action which alters the structure of cellulose will be called a chemical change. Unless, the paper is subject to chemical change, like heating or made to react it with any reactive substance, the change cannot be called as a chemical change.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!
