Q. Why does poem compare fire with human desire.

Dear Student,
Given below is the answer to your  question.

The poet compares the fire to human desires because it is powerful and able to destroy an individual. The desires of a man are unending and he longs to attain what he desires. In the same way, the fire gulps anything before it and therefore, it would be the best way to destroy the world.
