In the above quote from the story 'Lost Spring', the writer is trying to say that for elders, the scrounging of garbage is just a means of survival but for children it is wrapped in wonder. Sometimes they find a rupee or even a ten rupee note in the garbage that makes their eyes light up and tempts them to search for more.
