"Its contents, though hastily ransacked;in antiquity, were surprisingly complete." What does this statement signify?

In 1922 this guy Howard Carter the one who discovered King Tut tomb after futile searching in a hurry , in urgency damaged the contents of the tomb... But surprisingly they were complete which means that all of the components were there

zaha  found the articles and artefacts that had been buried with the body of Tut at the time of his funeral, to be complete. Though it appeared someone had tried to look at them and placed them untidily here and there in the tomb, but they had not been stolen.

This expression from ‘Discovering Tut: The Saga Continues’ by A.R. Williams means that when Howard Carter, the British archaeologist found King Tut’s tomb, he found the articles and artifacts that had been buried with the body of Tut at the time of his funeral, to be complete. Though it appeared someone had tried to look at them and placed them untidily here and there in the tomb, but they had not been stolen.
