'Spring' denotes a time when flowers bloom and young plants prosper. The spring of human life is childhood: a time for the young children to be carefree, enjoy and flourish. It is a time when they are looked after and do not have a single worry in the world. But, children like Saheb-e-Alam and Mukesh do not have that privilege. They are burdened with the responsibility of earning a living in the spring of their lives. Many such children are employed in the demanding bangle making industry or work as rag-pickers.
