List and explain the successful achievements of the national assembly from 1789 to 1791

1)  The representatives of French National Assembly tried to limit the powers of the monarch.
 
2)  On August 1789, the Assembly passed a resolution that abolished the feudal privileges and taxes. Moreover the land owned by Church were confiscated or taken away.

3)  Due to this move, government received assets worth around 2 billion livres.
 
4)  Constitution was drafted by the Assembly in 1791 which separated powers in different organs namely legislature, executive and judiciary.
 
5)   Citizens were able to vote their representatives who in turn chose members for Assembly. Those men who are 25 years of age and are regular tax payers were given the chance to vote.

Five Accomplishments of the National Assembly of France from 1789 to 1791

Important accomplishments of the National Assembly of France were:
 (i) Adoption of the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizens.

(ii) The declaration upheld the equality of all before law; eligibility of all for public offices; freedom of speech and expression.

(iii) It denied special privileges to the nobles and clergy and stressed that the burden of taxation must be borne by all without distinction.

(iv) Church was nationalised and people were guaranteed religious freedom.

(v) The new Constitution provided for constitutional monarchy and separation of powers between the legislature, executive and judiciary.

(vi) Jury system was introduced for criminal cases.
