List the importance and limitations of inbreeding. How can the limitations be overcome?

The importance of inbreeding is that it is used for developing purelines in plants and animals. It also helps in accumulation of superior genes and elimination of less desirable genes. The limitation is that continuing inbreeding reduces fertility and even productivity. This is called inbreeding depression. Inbreeding depression can be overcome by mating the selected animals of the breeding population with superior animals of the same breed but they are unrelated to the breeding population.
