There is a famous saying, 'Man proposes, God disposes'. We make many plans in our lives based on our aspirations and ambitions. But, nature may have other plans: as was the case with the protagonist in the story 'The Snake and the Mirror'. While thinking about his hopeful and happy future as a doctor and his marriage plans, the narrator had to suddenly deal with the situation of a snake that had fallen from the ceiling and crawled onto his arm and shoulder. Most individuals would have lack of confidence in such life-threatening situations. But, the best pan of action is to deal with the situation at hand in the best way possible. The narrator was wise enough to stay immobile till he was out of danger. Afterwards, he dashed to a friend's place for safety.
