Meenal wants to fill a dropper with the medicine . She dips the dropper into the bottle, presses the dropper and pulls it out .
(a) Will there be medicine in the dropper? Why ?
(b)What could be done to fill the medicine in the dropper .Why?

a) No. Pressing dropper will release all the liquid into the bottle. Pressure inside the dropper will be greater medicine will not be pulled up into the dropper.

b) Meena should keep the dropper dipped into the medicine and release the rubber bulb. As a result, the pressure inside the medicine becomes greater than the pressure inside the dropper. Hence the outside air exerts pressure and pushes the medicine into the dropper as she releases the rubber bulb.
