Merits of sampling method
1) It is a cheaper method.
2) it requires less number of enumerators.

Demerits of sampling method
1) Investigator's biasness in the selection of the sample is possible.
2) Not easy to select a sample which would represent the characteristics of the entire universe.

Merits of census method
1) It is reliable and accurate.
2) It is suitable for heterogenous characterstics of the universe.

Demerits of census method
1) census method is an expensive method.
2) It requires more number of enumerators.
