Molecular mass of Mg(OH)2

atomic mass of mg is 24u , atomic mass of oxygen is 16u and atomic mass hydrogen is 1u...
thn we know that the molecular mass of a substance  is the sum of the atomic masses of the atom in a molecule of a substance ...
so molecular mass of Mg(OH)2= atomic mass of mg+ 2(atomic mass of oxygen+atomic mass of hydrogen
                                                   =24+2(16+1)
                                                   = 24+2(17)
                                                   =24+34
                                       answer=58u

Molecular mass =Mg (OH)2 = 24 + (16x1)2 = 24+32 = 56 g/mol
  • 0
=1x24+1x16+2x1=24+16+2=42u

Sorry in my answer it is 58 not 56. I rechecked it.
