Monomial:

Binomial:

Binomial may be defined as an algebraic expression which is the sum of two monomials. For example, 3x²–2, –2xy + 3y² etc.

Trinomial:

A trinomial is one which has 3 unlike terms. For example, 5 xyz + 6xy ³ − x, – 2xy + 5y + 6x etc.

Polynomial:

A polynomial is an expression containing more than three unlike terms. For example,4x⁴ - 2x³ - 6x² + x - 5, 3xy - 2x + 5y -6 etc.
