The dorsal portion of d midbrain consists 4 round swellings, collectively called corpora quadrigemina. They are arranged such dat 2 are present on upper side and 2 on lower side . The 2 upper ones are called superior colliculi and they recieve sensory impulses fron eyes and muscles of the head and control visual reflexes..
