Thymus is a primary lymphoid organ present in precordial area of chest. It produces hormone thymosin, which is released in lymph (directly) and to blood stream (when it drains into the veins). Thymosin, which is released during the childhood year mainly, stimulate the formation of T-lymphocytes.
