Dear friend,
The A-Horizon or topsoil is the uppermost layer of soil and is rich in humus.
The B-Horizon or subsoil has a very little amount of humus and also consists of soluble minerals and iron oxides.
The C- Horizon or substratum doesn't contain humus and is infertile. It contains partially weathered rock.
Parent rock or Bedrock is a reservoir of rainwater as it consists of big rocks and doesn't allow the soil to absorb the water.
