Necessity is the mother of invention how does this saying stands true in context of story his first flight

Dear student
The young seagull was afraid of flying. Since there was no need for him to fly, he just stayed in the ground even when his siblings flew.  Gradually he started growing hungry and waited for his mother to feed him fish. However, just as his mother flew just opposite to him with a fish in her beak, he couldn't resist his temptation. Hunger necessitated the little bird to step forward to grab the fish when he started falling. After a few seconds of terror, he started flapping his wings and learnt to fly on his own. Thus necessity is the mother of invention stands true in the context of the story 'His first flight'.
Regards.
