create a pen portrait of anne frank as she narrates the horror of wars and persecution of jews in the world war years

Anne Frank's diary is not only a personal account of her life but also a social document which provides us with a brilliant narrative on the socio-political conditions of her time. As she talks about the horrors of war and the persecution of the Jews during the time of the Second World War, we see the image of a sensitive, perceptive and intelligent young girl emerging. She brings hope for readers that not each and every young person is misguided but given a chance, they can display a remarkably astute way of looking at life. Anne is horrified by the atrocities that war brings and deplores the negative mentality of people. Also, she believes that a person should not be defined by their ethnic or religious identities because a person is much more than that. Jews were considered to be below human as we later get to see from various accounts emerging post the Holocaust period but Anne's account shows the lived reality of the Jews who saw their lives taken away from them and doomed to a grim and bleak future. Their identity, human and national was snatched away from them, prominent families like the Franks had to go into hiding for no fault of their own and eventually, they were hastened to their deaths in the concentration camps. War brought its own fair share of miseries and scarcities through which Anne was growing up. In all the accounts that Anne provides of the conflicts, military as well as ethnic, Anne's clarity of vision comes through regarding the banalities of such wars. She has a humanitarian vision which incorporates the human nature's proclivity towards errors and flaws but believes that goodness and solidarity prevails over everything else.
