people say that earth will destroy very soon why?

Sun is middle aged but after several thousand million years, the Sun will perform a change in its state and its size will increase. It will swell to an enormous size engulfing the Earth and maybe even the asteroid belt. So, many people say the earth will be destroyed very soon. But, as you can see the Earth will not get destroyed soon but has life for several thousand million years.
