Peter buys 16 chairs at Rs.250 per chair and sells 12 of them at Rs.275 per chair. He sells the remaining chairs at Rs.200 per chair. Find gain or loss percent .

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Given : Peter buys 16 chairs at Rs.250 per chair  , So

Cost price of chairs = 16 × 250 =  Rs . 4000

And sells 12 of them at Rs.275 per chair and remaining chairs at Rs.200 per chair  ( We can say he sells chairs at Rs.200 per chair ) at. So

Selling price of chairs  =  12 × 275 +  4 × 200 = 3300 + 800 =  Rs .4100

Total gain  =  4100 -  4000 =  Rs . 100

Therefore,

Gain %  = 1004000×100 = 100004000= 104 = 2.5 %                                            ( Ans )
