Temperature is a value that measures the heat content of an object and is related to average kinetic energy of the molecules of the object. Temperature measured is directly proportional to average kinetic energy of the molecules. It is because as the temperature of a substance is increased, the vibration of individual atoms present in the substance increases, and as a result with further increase in temperature, the moles move more vigorously. Thus, the average kinetic energy is increased.
