​​​​a) Atomic number = Number of electrons = 2+8+18+7 = 35
b) Group number = Number of valence electrons + 10 = 7+10 = 17
Period = Number of shells = 4
c) Element with atomic number 9 is Flourine. F and Br belong to same group i.e. group 17, therefore show similar chemical reactions.

​​​​​​10. a) As we move down the group the distance between the nucleus and valence electrons increases as more shells are added as we move down. 

b) As we move down the group electropositivity increases. Therefore, increasing order of electropositivity is Li< Na< K. 

c) As we move down the group, the distance between valence electrons and nucleus increases therefore electropositivity increases.
