The material used in the set of pins A or pins B is soft Iron. Soft iron is easily magnetized.
Here, the pins are behaving like a magnet. The end of pins closer to north pole is acting as the south pole, while the other end of the pin is acting like the north pole.
The process which enables to suspend pins one below another is called magnetization. Each pin gets magnetized with the north pole of one pin connected to the south pole of other and so on.
