please can anyone tell me the difference between global warming and green house effect

Greenhouse effect refers to phenomenon trapping of radiations which results in of heating up of the area. When radiations pass through a transparent material like glass, the area inside the glass gets heated up due to trapped rays. Similar effect occurs on entire earth where atmospheric greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide absorb and trap heat radiations resulting in heating of atmosphere.

Global warming refers to the negative effect of the green house effect due to increased pollution. Increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is resulting in more absorption of heat and overall rise in the average temperature of the earth's surface as a result of the green house effect.

Gases like CO2, NO2, CH4, ETC. do not allow the heat radiations which are reflected by the earth to go into space and since the heat gets trapped the atmosphere becomes warm and warmer. This is known as green house effect. This effect is not harmful and is necessary for life on earth as if these greenhouse gases were not present then the Earth's temperature would have been very very low and the surroundings would have been like the Antarctica.

Global warming is a phenomenon which is caused due to greenhouse gases(like CO2, NO2, CH4, ETC.). It is the extreme part of greenhouse effect and is harmful too. When the greenhouse gases become excess in quantity in atmosphere , more heat is trapped in Earth and thus earth becomes more heated. And the greenhouse effect here comes to the most harmful level.
