Carnivorous or the topmost trophic level ultimately converts the most organic material in CO₂ which can be later utilised by primary producers. Carnivores perform metabolic reactions through which carbohydrate and other organic substances are converted into CO_{2​​​​}. Primary production is done by autotrophs by utilising light energy, water and CO₂. Autotrophs represent the first trophic level of ecosystem which gets energy from Sun and fix the CO₂ in carbohydrates available for next trophic level i.e., herbivores or primary consumers. Hence option (4) is correct answer.
