Please explain me........

Get it right!
In case of work and energy, N m is written as joule. Moment of force is not work or energy and hence it should be expressed in N m and not joule.

Dear student,

On dimensional analysis, it is found that work (energy) and moment of force both have same dimension.
Work = force * displacement
Moment of force = force * perpendicular distance wrt point of origin
So both have basically the units N.m
However, the SI unit of work is assigned the name as Joule ( instead of N.m) where 1J = 1 N.m Therefore work done is expressed in Joule.
However moment of force is physically different from work. Both have different physical significance. So we express it in N.m (not J) .
Hope it clears your doubt
Regards!
